Google’s goal is to find high quality sites. Sites that offer visitors valuable content are going to be ranked higher by search engines, and will therefore appear higher in the search rankings. This means you should consistently provide high-quality, relevant content.
Some of the things that search engines like Google look for to determine quality are:
- longer content
- images, videos
- correct spelling
- proper grammar
- proper text formatting
- outbound links to other high quality sites
- inbound links (and social shares) from high quality sources
Content must also be relevant. Google likes relevant sites because it means that visitors that end up at your website looking for information about a specific topic will be able to find it quickly. If your website is about cars, you shouldn’t be blogging about bicycle shows.
In WordPress you can create content through posts and pages.
